Milk!

So tonight it happened... my many months of getting strange looks from my girls have paid off. Kennedy signed milk! She actually did it Saturday when Adam was over, but I blew it off as a coincidence. So this evening, when it was time for our nightly bottles she was getting a little fussy, she looked over in the kitchen and signed milk perfectly! I was surprised and ran over to make her a bottle as fast as I could, hoping she would process the consequence with her action. I am pretty happy about this new discovery. HOORAY!

That is great news! It's like her first word! Soon she'll be doing all sorts of signs for you. So you must tell me do you do the ASL signs or Baby signs, or is it the same thing? I had thought that some of the baby sign books weren't the same signs for some words, but someone told me they were, but I wasn't sure if they knew or not, but you having taken ASL in college you would know. So I must know what it is you recommend.

OH Britni, this post took me back to the one (or two!) classes we had together at BYU! So fun that your little ones are learning sign. I've been thinking about doing that...when did you start that? Also, I have a newfound respect for you. I babysat my nephew today for an hour and a half (he and Brody are a week apart) and it just about drained me!! haha I felt so dumb, but I thought about you the whole time!

So cool!! I'm trying that with Carter so it's good to hear that you had success. And you inspired me to get this kid sleeping through the night. Let's hope it only takes him two nights just like your girls. I don't think I could handle much more than that!

hmmmm, I thought the sign for milk might not be the actual letters, but something a bit more, umm, graphic.
